Rock climbing and via ferrata

In his youth, Reinhold Messner – one of the world’s most famous mountaineers – learned and perfected his climbing technique on the Geisler mountains, more specifically in the Funes Valley near Hotel Fischer. Adept mountain climbers are rewarded with a very special kind of mountain experience when negotiating legendary climbing tours and spectacularly beautiful via ferrata – preferably with professional mountain guides.

Rafting and canyoning

Challenge yourself to rafting and canyoning under the watchful eye of experienced guides on the Eisack river between Sterzing and Franzensfeste or on the Rienz in the Puster Valley (April to October). You need to be brave and adventurous to enjoy rafting and canyoning to the max.

High ropes courses

Lovers of climbing have a variety of options in the Eisack Valley. The high ropes course in Funes is easy to reach from Hotel Fischer. Alongside the thrill, it also offers spectacular panoramic views at the foot of the Geisler mountains. A bit further away, but worth the journey, is the SKYTREK high ropes course and adventure park in Sterzing.

At the new Vertikale indoor climbing centre in Brixen, just a few minutes’ drive from Hotel Fischer, you can try out this trendy sport or put yourself through your paces on one of the indoor or outdoor climbing walls.
